It is a good book easy to read good for the basics of anatomy of skin and how our sense of smell works and tools to explore them. Good basic info on the biology of plants and the chemistry of essential oils . A section of essential oils and how they are classified and all their individual information for the chosen essential oils although I did find that the essential oils included were not the basic go to's that most start with and some essential oils that are included maybe hard to obtain for some. Then all of a sudden the book takes a turn to remedies smack ! and while we are all looking for the next great remedies. I wish since this is required in some courses it had not tried to be so heavy on remedies and had provided really great information on blending and factors of blending and why Monoterpenes are chosen over Ketones for example, not the authors own spin of "Synergy Stock Bottle" used for all types of diffusers and inhalers period that a body care product and essential oil use is totally different in formulation well yes you might use hydrosols etc instead and of course a carrier/carriers but then to add a highlighted box on the same page that you can still work with "The Synergy Stock Bottle" in body care products to me is wasted space and spin a far reach to stand out call it what it is its a master blend like every other book and please keep teaching us what other books do not. I understand why this was required but I think it could have been better a fabulous in-between standard aromatherapy books and the co-author Jade Shutes actual written text book available. if you are looking for good education spring for Shutes's text book if you want more remedies/recipes and a touch of education this works for that.

What Beautiful Book
This book is so beautifully done!
